Notte Rossa in Maranello

Everything is ready for the “Red Night”, the national motor festival developed within the “Progetto Rete Nazionale Città dei Motori”, which will take place on Saturday the 10th of June 2017. Ferrari’s fans are eagerly awaiting it and they are expecting to see great celebrations, being this year the 70th anniversary since its birth. “An important goal which we will celebrate with a special enthusiasm, since the “Prancing Horse” surely is an icon that made Maranello famous all around the world” – said the Mayor Massimiliano Morini, presenting what has now become a benchmark for the motor tourism and for tens of thousands of participants in the activities of the Red Night, which will last from 6pm until 2am.
Besides the events for the 70th anniversary since the establishment of the most famous Italian enterprise of the world - with the exhibition of Ferrari vehicles in the whole city center and along the main streets as well as with initiatives, activities at the Ferrari Museum and the inauguration of an exhibit dedicated to “the Drake” - the program of the Red Night that is now being defined. It envisages circus shows in Piazza Libertà, buskers and street musicians, food stalls and street food, entertainment areas and theme markets, pit stops, simulators and a big firework event.

Motor Web Museum

During the Red Night, to celebrate in the best way both a unique anniversary and the opening of the new portal dedicated to the project Rete Nazionale Città dei Motori, there will be an official ceremony in the morning of the 10th of June at the Conference Hall inside the Ferrari Museum. During this event - joined by the Mayors of the Network who positively accepted the invitation - there will be a symbolic ribbon cutting ceremony for the new virtual museum and the project will be explained with regards to its details and future development. Maranello, as the leading city of the initiative, has prepared a special welcome for all its guests through a plan of tours useful to increase the knowledge of the territory of the districts of Maranello, Fiorano Modenese, Formigine and Sassuolo.
Meanwhile, the works for the realization of the Motor Web Museum are going on thanks to the information arriving from the cities involved, and the areas of the project are little by little being defined more precisely and clearly.
What appears to be evident since the first analysis of the collected data, is how the motor tourism has proved to be an extremely interesting resource, with the potentials to attract a big audience, ranging from individuals with a passion for the engines to families, from children to adults and even more mature fans.

Pontedera - 5° Raduno Auto d’Epoca

On Saturday the 27th of May, the "5° Raduno Auto d’Epoca" – called Pontedera Città dei Motori” – will take place to remember the motor history and tradition of the city, that since the beginning of 1900 hosted the zeppelin airstrip, while during the first decade of the 20th century saw the development of important mechanic’s workshops starting from the CNM (Costruzioni Meccaniche Nazionali) where Enzo Ferrari made his first appearance as a pilot in 1919. According to the councilor Eugenio Leone "in recent years, with the help of the Associazione Città dei Motori, we wanted to consolidate the link with the motors in the profile of the city of Pontedera and to promote with this event the automotive history of the city, which was born well before the one - much more famous now – of the Vespa, and that takes on an important value in attracting tourists".


Varano de Melegari - Asimotoshow

The sixteenth edition of Asimotoshow, the vintage motorcycle event par excellence that took place at the racetrack of Varano de 'Melegari (Parma) from the 12th to the 14th of May, has beaten every previous record. According to Andrea Carra, Città dei Motori’s delegate for the town of Varano de Melegari and board director of the racetrack "Asimotoshow is the most important event dedicated to vintage motorcycles in Europe and stands out from similar events thanks to its vocation for the tracks in a place of Emilia Romagna where Food Valley and Motor Valley meet”.


Modena - Land of the Engines

On Saturday, the 6th and Sunday, the 7th of May a meeting with Modena Terra di Motori took place. It saw the historic center and many areas of the city becoming the scenography for the show of the cars that left a significant mark in the history of this area, thanks to private collections and to companies in the field of mechanics and motorcycles. According to the Councilor for Economic Activities and the Promotion of the City, Tommaso Rotella "Once again Modena celebrates the motorcycle passion, the great history and tradition that made of quality cars production a fundamental element for the economic growth and the promotion of Modena’s territory in the world. An event that reshapes a model which was already known in these areas, but which intends to increasingly project itself in the years to come in order to be able to emphasize its vocation for tourism”.


Varese - Defilè Anteguerra

On Sunday the 7th of May, the anti-war cars have made the Defilé Varese possible. A trip exclusively reserved for cars and motorcycles produced up until 1940 and organized by Club Milanese Automotoveicoli d’Epoca (CMAE) in collaboration with Club Varese Automoto storiche (VAMS), under the patronage of Milan City Council and Lombardy Region.
For the Mayor of Varese Davide Galimberti "it is an important occasion and we are glad that the Giardini Estensi have once again been the settings for a prestigious motorcycle event, a sort of preview for the upcoming Coppa dei tre laghi (Three Lakes Cup), planned for next July. We are convinced that the passion for engines can increasingly be a means and a fair approach to get closer to the values of road safety, which our city needs now more than ever. That is why the municipal administration fully supports now and will supports in the future this type of initiatives”.


Scarperia - Seventh edition Scarperia - Giogo

On Saturday, the 6th and Sunday, the 7th of May the seventh edition of the "Scarperia-Giogo", the Italian uphill race for vintage cars was held. The competition with logistics and paddock at the International racetrack in Scarperia has taken place along the state road 503 of the Passo del Giogo, on the partial track of the historic road circuit of Mugello.
According to the city councilor and representative of Città dei Motori, Marco Recati: "this year one of the most important events of the motorcycle calendar of Scarperia e San Piero was made possible thanks to the collaboration of different associations and local bodies, whose major members were: Mugello Circuit, Aci Club Firenze, Unione Montana dei comuni del Mugello, Comune di Scarperia e San Piero and Comune di Firenzuola. The Scarperia Giogo is a thrilling and spectacular race whose number of participants increases every year, a factor that gives us the desire to continue to work in the future to make the vintage cars run on the high hairpin turns of Mugello".


Ascoli - Slalom City of Ascoli Piceno

On Sunday, the 7th of May the 16th edition of the Slalom "Città di Ascoli Piceno" has been dedicated to Silvano Pennacchietti, from Fermo. The event organized by Gruppo Sportivo AC Ascoli Piceno and by Automobile Club Ascoli Piceno-Fermo attracted racers and fans along the path that will be the protagonist of the Paolino Teodori Cup at the end of June.
